The Opportunity Roadmap is designed to help Southeast Texas residents and business owners prepare to take advantage of a growing industrial sector in our region. That could mean choosing and obtaining certification to perform a trade, getting a job with local industry or finding new business opportunities. Industrial growth brings benefits beyond construction jobs and direct jobs. By bringing new investment and increased income to the region, it creates a ripple effect throughout the economy in sectors like retail, hospitality, restaurants, professional services and more.
Every success story is unique. That’s why the Opportunity Roadmap includes varied programs to help you improve your life, regardless of where you are starting from or what you hope to achieve. To find a program that might help you and learn more about what’s currently being offered, keep reading below.

Local Business Initiative
The 2015 Local Business Initiative gave local businesses an opportunity to get “pre-screened” to compete for work with the proposed Golden Pass LNG export project.
We have reopened the Local Business Initiative for local businesses and vendors interested in working with the project. If your business is located in Southeast Texas, we encourage you to join our 2019 Local Business Initiative list, which will be updated and provided to project contractors regularly. Businesses located in Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, Jasper, Newton, Liberty, Tyler and Chambers Counties as well as the Bolivar Peninsula area of Galveston County will be given priority consideration.
